Being a ravenclaw

Yes, I already blogged today, but I'm bored, and I thought I'd blog while this is still on my mind.

I'm a Ravenclaw. And I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love being a ravenclaw, because it's who I am, and I wouldn't want to be in any other house, but as it has it's pros, it most defiantly has its cons. So here it is! Pros and cons of being a Ravenclaw! Maybe I could make this a tag! I tag Trivial Thoughts!

Pro- we are the most intelligent in all of the school! I mean, as well as all the magic, and the adventure, Hogwarts is, at the base of it, a place of learning! I as a person value school and education, so in Hogwarts, yeah, I would be the person who would actually take some time to study for the OWLS, unlike most other houses.

Con- There is rarely ever ravenclaw merch at hot topic.

Pro- Luna Lovegood is in our house!!! She is by far my favorite Harry Potter character EVER!

Con- We barely got any recognition in the books and the movies.

Pro-
We are the most supportive and accepting to people who are different! there’s an intellectual tolerance there, the ability to accommodate people who have different ideas or weird hobbies, and to remain open-minded about people who are different. Ravenclaw is the House for people who would get funny looks from others - (Not to stereotype, but) when Gryffindors would shun, Hufflepuffs stare, and Slytherins smirk, Ravenclaws would welcome a person with open arms and a desire to learn more about what they’re doing. This is a House where you don’t have to worry about being made fun of.
Ravenclaw isn’t solely comprised of geeks - but it’s definitely the House most likely to welcome them with open arms, and where someone who has unusual interests can find a friend without fear of being laughed at. Ravenclaws are curious, creative, intelligent - and wise enough to realize that intelligence comes in many different forms.
Con-  even though we earn TONS of house points in class, we are still overshadowed by Gryffindor. Seriously! We are the best in practically any class, and we get tons of points for being the teachers pet, but we loose it all to Gryffindor. Why? Quidditch. Let's face it, a lot of us Ravenclaw nerds are probably terrible at sports.
Pro- Again, we have merchandising issues, but that just means we have choices that the other houses don't!!!!!! In the books, the ravenclaw colors were bronze and blue, but in the movie, they were grey and blue. We have more choices when it comes to merch!
Con- Reminding people that the ravenclaw mascot is an eagle, not a raven. Seriously, the struggle is real.
Pro- The ravenclaw common room is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Bookshelves filled to the absolute limit, and stacks of books on the floor. It is a perfect little reading nook, and it's also the perfect place to hang out with other ravenclaws!
Con- people like to assume and write most ravenclaws off as the "weird girl" or the "girl who doesn't know how to have fun" but that is so viciously not true! Who says you can't be intelligent and still know how to have fun? We're the house of intellect, and knowledge. Not the house of goodie two shoes. Please don't assume to know who I am. Sorry, got a bit passionate there.
And I think I'm gonna end on that note!

Thank you guys so much for checking out my blog! Please leave a comment telling me some things you love and/or hate about the Hogwarts house you're in! Also, let me know if you happen to be a ravenclaw!

Painting! (and a little bit of a story)

Fandom painting done by me!

So this is a fandom painting that I just finished, and it has quite an interesting story. :)
This painting is based off a painting done by a character in a book that my friend and I are writing. The character's name is Brenna, and this is the story of her painting! (Keep in mind that this is the first draft of this scene that you are reading, so if at any point, I post the full book, don't be suprised if I have changed this part drastically.)

I glance at my walls, holding the sharpie firmly in my hand. My parents had suggested that I get rid of some of my older paintings to make room for some new ones, so today was the day. The day I say goodbye to paintings that I was once proud of, but now, have little to no meaning to me. Since I was throwing the canvases away anyway, I was going to draw a sharpie X on the ones I was going to give up, to serve as a metaphor that the painting was gone... that it was no longer important to me. I let out a deep sigh, feeling like I was about to murder my own children.
"Here we go." I whisper to myself as I draw an X on the first canvas. I draw X's on about 10 canvases before my phone rings. It was Kayla. I set the sharpie down on my desk-which was wooden and covered in paint splatters- and answer the phone.
"Hey, Kayla. What's up?" I greet with a sigh.
"Not much. I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my place to hang out for a bit?" She asked, almost begging. I laugh gently, sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Can't you just hang out with Chris? He lives just down the street from you, ya know." I remind her.
"Yeah, I know, but Jordan's over at his place, and... well I'd kind of be an awkward third wheel." She says, sounding annoyed. "Plus we haven't hung out since school got out! I miss you! Can you PLEASE come over?" She adds.
"Ummm..." I say, bouncing up to look at my calendar, which was blank for the rest of the week, including today.
"Yeah, sure! Be there in a few." I say.
"Kay!" She responds cheerfully, hanging up the phone.
"Mom! Dad! I'm going out! Will you take over painting duty for me?" I yell, grabbing some stuff to take over, shoving it in a bag.
I hear something like a "yeah sure!" mixed with an "Okay, have fun!" And run down the stairs.
"Can I take the mini-van, mom?" I yell. I pause to wait for her response.
"Yeah!" She yells back.
"Thanks! Don't get rid of any paintings in the corner! I piled up my favorites!" I say, again waiting for a response. I heard a remark that I couldn't quite decipher, so I just turned out the door, and drive to Kayla's.

_________________________________________________________________________________

(Later when Brenna gets home)

I walk through the front door quietly, trying not to wake any one as I make my way to my room. When I enter my bedroom, I'm greeted by stacks of canvases piled up with X's on them, leaving only about 7 on my walls, and probably more scattered through out the house... there were a LOT of paintings. I grin at the stack, feeling relived to not have to destroy paintings myself. Though I was curious which of my paintings my parents had chosen to throw away.... I start to rummage through the stacks.
"Bowl of fruit, sunset, flower..." I mummer to myself, as I look at each painting. My eyes lock on one painting. I feel tears building up and choking my throat as I hold the canvas firmly in my hand. I shake my head, silent and shaky tears dreading on my face.
"No." I cry dully. "No!"  My parents had drawn- in sharpie- a thick black X over the top of my pride and joy, the absolute best painting I had ever done. My fandom painting was ruined. I felt my heart grow heavy in my chest. I didn't care about any of the other paintings in the stack at this point. I curled my knees into my chest, rocking back and forth.
"Why would they do this to me?" I cry a bit louder, feeling like my insides had been twisted into a knot. I sobbed. For hours. Getting progressively louder and louder as the reality of the situation set in. My parents, looking like they had just rolled out of bed, came barging into my room.
"Brenna Renee Allen! What's going on?" My dad yells, staring at me as I rocked back and forth on the ground. I looked up at my retched parents slowly, shaking my head in disgust.
"You.... you knew... I LOVED that painting. Both of you knew!" I yell, aggressively pointing at the canvas that they had ruined.
"Brenna..." My mom starts, trying to comfort me. I pull away swiftly from her as she tries to put her hand on my shoulder.
"Don't touch me!!!" I yell. "Why did you do it?" I add. "You knew I loved that painting.... so why did you draw an X on the ONLY PAINTING THAT I ACTUALLY GAVE A CRAP ABOUT!?!?"  I yell.
"Your...'fandoms' are not what you should be focusing your talents on, and you know it! It's a waste, Brenna! An absolute waste! It wasn't even that good anyway!" My father said, striking a nerve in me, causing me to explode. I stood to my feet.
"Don't you get it?!?! YOU FREAKING IDIOT, DON'T YOU GET IT!??!? This painting meant more to me than any of the crap you and mom and the school art program ever made me draw, because for once, art actually expressed who I am! DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME THAT WHEN I DRAW WHO I AM...THAT IT'S NOT EVEN THAT GOOD!"
"This is not who you are, Brenna!" My mom yelled. "This is who Kayla has made you to be! If you had never met that girl, we wouldn't be having this issue right now! TV shows, books, movies, none of that is important! College, life, jobs, using your talent for good... that's what matters!"
"Don't you dare." I say, shaking my head. "DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT! MY FANDOMS HAVE TAUGHT ME MORE ABOUT LOVE, ABOUT FAMILY, AND ABOUT LIFE THAN EITHER OF YOU EVER COULD! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BLAMING KAYLA FOR RUINING ME! THIS IS WHO I AM! ....and if you won't let me express that... I'm giving up art." I say, taking in a sharp breath.
"She's bluffing." My father says. I raise an eyebrow.
"Am I?" A say, grabbing my easel, and tons of unfinished painting ideas drawn out on paper, running out to the back yard.
"Brenna?!?!?" My parents call after me as I run down the stairs and outside. I stand by the edge of the pool, holding my paint supplies in my arms.
"BRENNA NO! DON'T DO IT!" My mom yells out.
"Brenna, don't do this!" My dad adds. I feel tears trembling down my cheeks as I chuck the easel and the paintings into the pool, symbolizing the end of my art career.

100 question tag

I'm bored... so I'm going to do a 100 question tag!

1.) sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise! Seriously, the are so beautiful! I tend to wake up early most mornings, so I get to appreciate the sunrise as I drink my coffee. (I don't really do breakfast most mornings...)

2.) Are you mentally ill?
No. I may be slightly insane... but no.

3.) Are you physically ill?
Yes. I'm prone to pretty common migraines. (Though not many people know that... I try not to make it a big deal.)

4.) What is the most expensive thing you've bought?
My iPhone.

5.) Do you have a job?
Not yet. I'm hoping to look for a job next summer, though not many people in my area hire 15 year olds...

6.) Are you in school?
Not currently! Summer vacation! but yeah, I'm a freshman.

7.) Are you a dropout?
No. I value my education.

8.) Are you in collage?
Nope. As I said... freshman! But, I think about my future quite a lot, and I do plan on going to collage.

9.) Introvert or extrovert?
Kind of somewhere in the middle... I guess it just depends on how I'm feeling and what the situation is.

10.) What do you think when you look at your body?
Meh... could be worse.

11.) What have others said when they look at your body?
"You're 14!??! Wow! You look about 16 to me!" or "You're so pretty!" .... I don't really think so, but that's what the peeps say...

12.) Do you have a particular song that you feel deeply?
Oh, the answer to this is CONSTANTLY changing, but currently, the answer to this is "Fight Song."

13.) talk about a time in your life when you felt most alive?
Church summer camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14.) Are you confident in wearing a bikini?
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate the idea of bikinis! They are demeaning, and their one sole purpose is to show off your body. I am plenty confident, and I don't need to show off skin to prove that!

15.) can you look at people in the eyes while talking?
Yes! I feel like eye contact is one of the most important elements in a conversation. It shows respect. Though every once and a while, if I get uncomfortable or something, I'll kind of study their features. ie their nose, or their glasses (if existent) and things like that. I may just focus in on one single freckle. I do that a lot.

16.) Has anything terrible happened to you?
I don't know... I guess I'd have to define terrible. My life is pretty great, in my opinion.

17.) has anything wonderful happened to you?
So many wonderful things have happened to me!

19.) Least favorite part of your personality?
I kind of hate that I can be a bit selfish at times. I'm kind of insecure about that, so I kind of try to do all I can to make my life about other people. I really just hate myself sometimes for being so selfish and needy.

20.) Favorite part of your body?
Either my hair or my legs.

21.) Least favorite part of your body?
We are not getting into this... I'll get to insecure.

22.) Favorite quote?

Yes! Absolutely!

25.) do you have a good relationship with your mother?
Yes! Absolutely!

26.) do you have a good relationship with your siblings?
More or less.... both of my brothers are pretty socially awkward, and find joy in annoying the crap out of me. I don't really get to talk to either one of them without leaving the conversation feeling slightly offended. Though I'm sure that's not their intention.

27.) Have you ever been hurt physically/ mentally by a family member?
yeah.
Physical: Play fighting with my brothers, or having an argument with them.
Emotional: Unintentional offending, or straight up teasing. (My parents too.) But I guess it's playful teasing that used to be funny, but has been repeated one to many times.

28.) Have you ever had a near death experience?
I don't think so.... but I do remember this one time when I was really little, I could barely breathe, so I kind of slowly made my way to the living room, and tried to tell my parents, but I couldn't really talk. They had this oxygen machine (Because I guess this wasn't the first time) that was made for kids, and they got me breathing again, and then took me to the shower, where they kind of made a steam room for me so that I could breathe. I don't know if that qualifies as a near death experience though.

I hope not.

30.) Have you ever tried to take your own life?
Never.

RANTING!

So, I think it's healthy to just rant every once and a while. Even if that is completely false, I just want to rant! This blog post is just going to be one giant rant about my TERRIBLE movie theater expiriance! So fasten your seat belts, get your popcorn, and get ready for the rantosaurus rex!

So, I was at the movies the other day seeing Pixels (I didn't like it all that much... I rate 5 out of 10) and when we walked in, there was practically no one there. And I LOVE it when I'm the only one in the theater, so that was pretty awesome. And then some people started rolling in. As I said before, there was practically no one in the theater, so there were rows and rows of emty seats to choose from.... but the family coming in decided to sit RIGHT BEHIND US!!!!!!!!! I mean, come on!!!!!!!!!! You could litterally sit any where in the theater, but you choose to sit right behind a family that is trying to enjoy a movie!?!??!?!? RUDE! So, I wouldn't have minded that much that they were sitting behind us... had they not been kicking my chair!!!!!!!!!! So the trailers were rolling, and the kids behind us were talking and laughing and having a good time, which I didn't mind... they were only trailers after all. But then the movie starts.... and they're still talking. Seriously! I tried to ignore them, but litterally after EVERY SINGLE JOKE made throughout the whole movie, they would laugh. Loudly. For 5 minutes. Seriously, like  minutes after the joke was made, they were still repeating the joke to eachother, laughing. I was about to turn around and yell at them. This is about what I wanted to do.

*Stands up* *turns around* ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? YES, WE GET IT. HE SAID SOMETHING FUNNY. IT'S A FREAKING COMEDY. SOME OF US CAME HERE TO ENJOY THE MOVIE SO WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP AND STOP KICKING MY SEAT BEFORE YOU GET A FIST TO THE FACE!??!?!?!?!?

Of course I didn't do any of that. This is what I did do.

*Stands up* *walks to the other side of my family* *to my dad, loud enough for the other family to hear* can I sit here? The kids over there are being annoying and kicking my chair.

And you'd think after all of that they would stop.... but oh no. They continued. Though luckily, I couldn't hear it from where I was sitting, my brother was still a victim. He ended up sitting by me.

*Sigh* That felt nice. I quite enjoy ranting, I should do it on this blog more often!

500 page views!

Silent brother

I have 500 page views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's a pic of a silent brother that I drew! <4

spoilers

hey guys! So, I've been inspired by Danisnotonfire's most recent video to talk about spoilers.

So, people who know me probably know that I am acctually the WORST when it comes to spoilers, but I'm working on it! Seriously, I'm working on it to the point where I won't even tell you the main character's name when recomending a book. I'll just be "read this book, I think you'd like it" And tell them nothing about it. Seriously, this is my goal.
So, from now on, this blog will be a spoiler free zone! If I feel the need to spoil something, this is probably what it will look like.

MASSIVE SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!!!!! (IF YOU ARE NOT CAUGHT UP IN THIS SHOW, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I'M WARNING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

_________________________________________________________________________________
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY BREAK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE WORLD ENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE BECOMES EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO MANY SPOILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_________________________________________________________________________________

NO MORE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, I realized that I really hate spoilers, and I shouldn't spoil for other people, so here you go!!!!!!!!!!! I guarantee to spoil no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (unless I give you a fair warning that you can easily avoid)

Okay, I'm running out of good quotes so I'm just gonna come up with a cool outro to do every time! I'll let you know when I come up with that.
