Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson

So, I am very distracted while writing today's blog, listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and singing along like a madwoman. :) If you haven't listened to this song, it's a classic rock song that is one of my favorites!
Anyway, I recently took a test on Quotev called "my life at camp half blood" And it is so accurate! And apparently, according to this test, Leo Valdez is my boyfriend! :) *Squeals happily* So, I've decided to write a fan fiction based on this test. I don't have a clever name for it yet. (Easy come, easy go, will you let me go? DISMELLA! NOOOO! We will not let you go!) Lol, sorry about that. (FOR MMEEEEEEEEEEEE!) Okay, I'm done now.
For now, the fanfic is called "Percy Jackson fan fiction." I know, such creativity. It features a girl named Amelia. (The character that basically is me.) When Amelia was 12, she went out trick or treating with her mom, when they were both attacked by monsters. Her mom, unfortunately didn't survive the attack. Amelia was left to fend off the monster until Percy and Annabeth showed up, and saved her. They found out that Amelia was a demigod because she could see through the mist and she never knew her dad. They take her back to camp half-blood, where they find out that she is the daughter of Apollo. Years later when she is 15, Annabeth comes back to camp with 3 new demigods (The beginning of series 2) and Amelia doesn't really want to meet them. They're not her good friend Percy, so why should she care, right? She goes out to the forest to practice archery by shooting at tree stumps. She hears a rustling in the bushes, and almost shoots Leo as he jumps out of the bush. They start going out soon afterwards, and a couple years later, they get married! (So, yeah that's the basic concept. I'll put the link to the test at the end of the blog.)
That's all for now! Oh, I have a friend who has a blog, and I'd love it if y'all would check it out! Link to her blog: http://trivial-thoughts-blogging.blogspot.com/?m=1

Don't judge a book by its movie

Don't judge a book by its movie

"I didn't read the book. But it's okay, I watched the movie!" We fangirls have all heard this or a variation of this at least once. And can I just say, there are not words to describe how much it frustrates me when this happens. "I hate (fill in the blank) it was so bad. I haven't even read the book, but the movie was terrible." .......... no words.
I mean, I would kind of understand this in terms of Harry Potter, or possibly Lord of the rings, because for the most part, those movies were pretty spot on. But for movies like Percy Jackson, or City of bones, or even divergent, I just can't express how important the books are in these situations.
I think we can all admit that some movies really just mess it up. "You know, in the book, they actually..." "What...." "THAT NEVER EVEN HAPPENED IN THE BOOK, WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?" "Where's the part with the thing!?!? They didn't do the thing!" Any of that sound familiar? Those were all things I said in insurgent, city of bones, Percy Jackson, the giver, and so many others.
Sorry for ranting! :)
So, I think I figured out how I want to end my blogs. I'll end it each time with a quote from a fictional character. today, Luna Lovegood. :)

Fears of fictional characters and shipping

Hey, internet! So, I'm just going to jump right in with today's topic, fears of fictional characters. I think that a lot of the characters in books have really strange fears. I mean, Annabeth being afraid of spiders, that makes sense, because of Athena and Arakhne. But some of them are just awesome. Like Ron and spiders. or Herondales with ducks. I just find it hilarious how authors fit these fears into their stories. I've been trying to figure out a really hilarious fear for a fictional character for my book. I think that these fears are one of the reasons we just love fictional characters. I mean, Will Herondale is one of my fictional character crushes. Through the infernal devices books I was all like "Tessa, I ship you with Jem. You go be with Jem. I ship MYSELF with Will." So, I think Will being afraid of ducks makes him all the more adorable.
This brings on a slightly different topic, shipping. If you've ever read the infernal devices, you know how hard it is not to just ship it all! I personally shipped Jem and Tessa, but it was hard to decide who to ship, because they both love her and she loves them both and.... UGH!!!! But then there's also the issue of shipping yourself with a fictional character. (For me, that's Leo Valdez.) I see no issue in shipping like this! :)
(I want to come up with a clever slogan or something to end blogs with, but for now, I'll just stick with the Tobias heart.)

About this blog

Hey, Internet! I'm new to the blogging world, but far from new to the wonderful life of being a fangirl! :) a few things that you should know about me as you read my blog:
I am a writer. I write books, fan fictions, poems, and on an occasion, I'll write a song or two. I am also a very deep thinker. I ask the questions that need to be asked. (Although sometimes they come off as a bit random and at times extremely rediculous. For example, why are words what they are? Did someone just look at a thing and say the first thing that popped into their head? If so, what did they do before things had names?)
Enough about me! Let's talk about fandoms! Today's fangirl topic: the mortal instruments! I love the mortal instruments book series with a burning passion.  But let's be honest, the movie was almost as inaccurate as the Percy Jackson movies.  So, I am personally holding a very high hopes for the TV show set to come out in January 2016 "shadowhunters."  They recently released  the information that Dominic Sherwood is going to be playing Jace. Now, I guess I can't make judgements quite yet, but just from pictures, I think Jamie was a better Jace. But I'm sure that Domonic will be great! I'm also super excited for lady midnight!!! (First dark artifices book.)
:) hope you enjoyed my first blog! I will try to post at lease weekly. (Possibly more than weekly.) <4
